Caring for the Earth
Here at CTK Preschool, we take our responsibility as stewards of the Earth seriously. We understand the importance of making changes to reduce our environmental impact and that's why we're always looking for new ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle. In addition to making changes at school, we believe in imparting this knowledge to the preschoolers in our care. Through fun and engaging activities, we teach them about the importance of taking care of our planet and how they can make a difference too!
Bees

We believe in educating children about the crucial role of bees in our ecosystem. We have beehives on site for children to safely observe and learn about these fascinating insects.
Composting

Composting our food and paper waste in our on campus compost bins is one of the ways we're taking care of our Earth!
Reusable Containers

We encourage families to send lunches in reusable containers and to provide water bottles for daily use. We use our water bottle refilling stations each day!.
Fall - Children's Clothing Swap

Each year in October, the preschool organizes a children's clothes swap. Families bring in gently used clothing and exchange them for new to them items. Join us this fall and help make a difference for our planet!
Solar Panels

CTK Preschool takes pride in reducing its carbon footprint by utilizing solar panels located on our roof to generate part of our electricity!
Recyled Art

We believe in teaching our students about sustainability through hands-on activities. One of our favorite ways to do this is by creating crafts and art using recycled materials. Not only does this teach our students about the importance of reusing and repurposing, but it also allows them to get creative and have fun while doing. Our students love using their imaginations to turn trash into treasure!
Reusable Birthday Box

We're excited to introduce our reusable birthday box! This box can be borrowed by families and includes all the materials needed to set up a zero waste birthday party!
Spring - Buy Nothing

Sprig time means spring cleaning!. This event is a great opportunity for our community to come together to reduce waste by sharing items they no longer need.
